Luke 6:44-46

“For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

I want to issue a warning concerning Pastor Mark Driscoll. I cannot fully document his shenanigans in this short blog but I can provide links so that someone may explore further if they so desire. The Bible states that Jesus came to save or deliver His people from their sins. {Matthew 1:21}That has been my experience. He has transformed my life and continues to work on me every minute of every day. The very things that Mark Driscoll “glories” in, Jesus delivered me from. I am sure he could say as another pastor famously stated; “We have more people in our restrooms than you have in your congregation”. But the size of the congregation does not indicate that a church or ministry is Biblical. Many who read this will not understand why I even make mention of this man. I wrote a small piece about him in May of 2013. Many people do not see the trend that is growing among the young people in our churches. Many may say “he is a Calvinist,  that’s what is wrong with him”. He is an antinomian but the fact that he is a “Calvinist” is pretty much irrelevant  to the facts I am presenting. I hope this small article will encourage its readers to think about the future of Christianity.

To cut to the chase I will give you some quotes and links to substantiate them.

I am of the opinion that MANY young “church people” have been so influenced by the world that they would label me a “prude” and agree with Driscoll’s way of thinking…I hope I am wrong about that.

* “Jesus Christ is going to have a tattoo—Revelation says on his second coming. It says that down his right leg will be written King of Kings and Lord of Lords, which will be really freakish for all for the fundamentalists to see Jesus all tattooed up. I can’t wait for that day… Make sure you go to a good tattoo parlour, two of the best in Seattle are actually members of Mars Hill…” {He also is a promoter of the use of alcohol}

* Mark Driscoll states his barber {a flamboyant transsexual} provides “the finest selection of waiting area pornography in our city.” 

* Mark Driscoll claims to be clairvoyant, “Some people actually see things. This may be gift of discernment. On occasion, I see things. I see things.” {see link to read more concerning his “visions”}

* He is very vulgar and explicit in his speech, even when preaching. His sermons are R-rated and his nickname is the “Cussing Pastor” {Warning Very Unnecessary crude vulgar talk – the sermons and quotes in these links are crude and sexual in nature. I only provide them so that people may know the exact truth.}

As my old history teacher, Mr. King used to say, “ to be forewarned is to be forearmed” and “a word to the wise is sufficient”
