What Does the Bible Say About Homosexuality?

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit thekingdom ofGod. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” I Corinthians 6:9-11

Last July a teacher in Great Britain was found to have over 4500 images of child pornography on his computer, some of children as young as two years old. An assistant noticed files on his coworker’s computer with names such as “rape wife,” “nude model” and “gay alligator. The assistant immediately reported the teacher to the authorities. The judge in the case allowed the teacher to walk free by handing down a suspended sentence. Please read carefully the following statement given by the judge to the child pornographer; “I don‘t criticize you for being a teacher who’s attracted to children…Many teachers are but they keep their urges under control both when it comes to children and when it comes to images of children…” I only give this news report to prove that over time any kind of perversion will be considered acceptable. Forty years ago homosexuality was as rare as a derecho.  Today, {if you believe the news} many people accept homosexuality as normal. Forty years from now {if the Lord tarries} many may well tolerate child molestation. This judge in Great Britain obviously seems to.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) said, “Today, Internet child pornography may be the fastest-growing crime in America, increasing an average of 150 percent per year…” You may find all this repulsive and I hope you do but forty years ago the average person would’ve found sodomy or homosexuality repulsive. God’s word has always condemned sexual perversion.

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient…” {Romans 1}

In the passage given above God calls homosexuality a “vile affection”. God states that homosexual behavior goes “against nature”. He calls it unseemly and erroneous and he gives those who live such lifestyles over to a “reprobate mind”. According to the Bible God “gives them up” to their vile affection. The Bible tells us those who continue in a lifestyle of sexual sin shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

“Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

In the big scheme of things my opinion doesn’t matter. What does the Bible say about homosexuality? I must agree with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. God does not look on homosexuality as an alternate lifestyle but as a vile affection and a prohibition to the Kingdom of God. “Be not deceived”. Or in other words, don’t be fooled. – Shawn

    shawn unfortunately the first attack on biblical marriage came when our society began accepting divorce. Then shacking up was acceptable, now homosexuality. Your right when you point out the fact that it will continue to get worse. May GOD give us the grace and the guts to preach HIS WORD without comprimise. GOD bless Bro. Brian
